Hello from Jodh Kaur and welcome to Urban Yoga Chicago!
Welcome to Urban Yoga Chicago! Congratulations on stepping out into something new (or perhaps something you haven't experienced in awhile)! I am one of the co-founders here at UYC and we appreciate you investing in yourself and inviting us to partner with you on your wellness journey. Your 3 class pass is a wonderful way to experience Kundalini Yoga, our fabulous community and yes our Yogi Tea - don't be shy - make sure you try some ☺️. We invite you to make the most of your experience here and I think you will find that the UYC community is happy (and excited) to meet you. If you haven't done so already, please be sure to schedule your Wellness Assessment with either Savitree or me. No need to worry, this is a casual and fun conversation where we get to learn more about you, why you are here and what you would like to achieve with your practice. And if you don't know the answers to some of those questions, that's fine too, we can work with you on that.
A bit about me... I teach evening classes most week days. We work in class, but the idea is to ease into the evening so there is a strong focus on meditation and relaxation. I love to witness transformation in our clients (often in a short period of time) - it's why I teach!
I am a plant based runner and am training for my first marathon - THE Chicago Marathon this fall. I became vegan 2 1/2 years ago and have noticed a significant shift in my recovery after runs and even how my body feels while I'm running - less inflammation, less tension and I feel better faster. But fear not, I don't spend class time proselytizing about veganism. I got here on my own journey and I respect we all have our path to follow in order to learn and experience what we need to in this life.
I love to travel, dystopian novels & movies, autobiographies (yes I like a mix of fantasy and real life), cooking, coffee, chocolate and morning walks with my pup. I enjoy laughing and getting others to laugh and practice my arsenal of accents on my husband, often when he least expects it.
