Wondering about the three months in between immersion weeks? Let us tell you how we fill in the gaps...
First, the benefits of immersion:
What is the best way to learn a language? To land yourself in a country that speaks that language. You are surrounded by what you want to learn, it is all around you. That concentration without distraction allows you to pick it up quickly.
Similarly, a teacher training immersion brings you that concentration with daily community practice without the conflicts and distractions of the outside world.
We keep this immersion just one week long so that you can get back to your life commitments.
The benefits of space in between immersions:
"I was able to incorporate all of the knowledge into my life and really engage with the process of doing so." -2017 graduate
There are 2-3 months in between each immersion week. It is time to step back into your life, reflect on what you've learned, take some classes, do homework, and begin to integrate what you soaked in and stirred up from the week-long immersion into your daily life.
But don't worry, we won't leave you fending for yourself to try and fill in the gaps. There is more going on during these months, including assignments and meet-ups that develop Prosperous Community Building. As creators in your own life, it is up to you to work this as little or as much as you can to get the experience you need. The following courses and activities are covered during the in-between months:
White Tantric Yoga - will be on Saturday, April 27
Energy Exchange + Demystifying the Business of Yoga- money, community service, leadership, meet n greets: Saturday, March 30
Yogic Cooking + Teacher's Panel- start with cooking for each other and the teachers: Saturday, September 7
Postures and Modifications: Saturday, June 8
Get Some Experience Under Your Belt Opportunities-
Get on the rotation to teach a community class as you are ready. Fellow trainees are strongly encouraged to come take the class and offer constructive feedback afterwards.
Get on the rotation to lead Sunday sadhana(after the 2nd immersion week).
Meet-n-Greets: we will ask you to do one hour structured one-on-one meet-ups (in person or via FaceTime, Skype, etc) to develop reach-out and support readiness.
Take your 20 required classes.
A lot will be covered over one week's time. The in-between months go fast, and it is a sweet time to take in all the nuggets of information, insight and experiences from the immersion and integrate them into your life as well as get together as a community. It gives you ample time (but not as much as you think!) to learn to reach out and support each other as a spiritual community going through an amazing journey together. This sort of stepping-into-immerson, stepping-back, then jumping-back-in (with master level teachers, community and teacher support, might we add!) is a rare opportunity to grow and prepare to be a teacher and leader in your own life.
DON'T RUSH THE EXPERIENCE.
When you heat food on high, you lose a ton of nutrients, and there is higher risk of burning. Slow cook and seal in the nutrients. These gaps allow you to marinate in the juices from the week-long immersions and serve up the right amount of space to make it yours.
