Zen Shiatsu is a blend of Chinese Acupressure and Japanese ”finger touch” therapy. Drawing on the ancient wisdom traditions of Chinese Medicine and Five Element Theory, Shiatsu serves to restore balance to the circulation of blood, lymph, interstitial fluids, and pure energy (Qi, Lifeforce energy) throughout the body. It also helps to develop the system’s “relaxation response” to soothe the nerves, reduce muscular tension, and calm the mind.
Kamal Prem is an experienced Kundalini Yoga teacher, Qigong Instructor, and a licensed Zen Shiatsu massage therapist. Her multi-disciplinary approach is comprehensive, intuitive, and as powerful as it is gentle. She is currently a senior practitioner at both Zen Shiatsu Chicago, and Urban Yoga Chicago.
